About
Hello, I'm Elena, the teacher behind The Learning Pod.
I created The Learning Pod to offer something that feels both personal and purposeful. A calm, supportive learning space where children can build confidence, strengthen key skills and feel proud of their progress.
As an experienced primary teacher, I have worked with children across a range of ages and abilities and understand that no two learners are the same. Some children need challenge, some need reassurance, and many need a little of both. My approach is always centred around helping children feel comfortable, capable and ready to learn.
My experience
Primary teaching experience shaped by care, challenge and progress
I am an experienced teacher with a strong background in primary education and a real passion for helping children grow in confidence as well as ability.
Led subject areas including Science and English
Developed a strong understanding of how to support children in making meaningful progress
Built experience working with a wide range of learning needs and styles
Literacy Leadership Qualification
I also hold a qualification in literacy leadership, which has strengthened my understanding of how children develop as readers and writers, and how to support them effectively.
SEND Training: ADHD and Autism
Alongside this, I have completed SEND training in autism and ADHD, which has helped me develop an even more inclusive and thoughtful approach to teaching. I understand that children learn in different ways, and I always aim to create sessions where children feel understood, supported and able to succeed.
My teaching approach and values
My teaching approach
My teaching approach is rooted in warmth, structure and encouragement.
I believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported and confident enough to have a go. That means creating sessions that are calm and positive, while also being carefully planned and purposeful.
- building confidence alongside academic skills
- breaking learning down into manageable steps
- using engaging activities and guided practice
- helping children revisit and secure previous learning
- creating a positive environment where mistakes are part of learning
I want children to leave each session feeling that they can do this. That they are making progress. That learning is something they are capable of and can feel good about.
My values
These values shape how I teach, how I support children and how I want families to feel when they work with me.
Confidence
Children make the best progress when they believe in themselves. I place confidence at the heart of my teaching because it shapes how children approach challenge, effort and new learning.
Support
Every child deserves to feel understood and encouraged. I aim to create a learning environment where children feel comfortable, valued and able to ask for help.
Progress
Progress looks different for every child. Sometimes it is a big breakthrough, and sometimes it is a small but important step forward. Both matter.
Enjoyment
Learning should feel engaging and rewarding. I want children to enjoy sessions, feel motivated and experience success along the way.
For me, teaching has always been about more than just outcomes. Of course progress matters, but so does the way children feel while they are learning. I care deeply about creating an environment where children feel comfortable, encouraged and proud of what they can achieve.
That is the heart of The Learning Pod. Thoughtful teaching, genuine support and a belief that every child can grow with the right approach.
